Pots are different too, all CTS Audio taper, #000 got the flat bottom ones. I used ties for the lead dress on production guitars." - Laurent Brondel

Master Luthiers Laurent Brondel and Chuck Thornton teamed up to develop and build a modern vintage Strat called the Nowcaster. The body is made from very old growth Alaska Yellow Cedar. Unlike western red cedar this is not a really soft wood it is quite dense for cedar and has a tone that is incredibly rich and full.

The necks are Torrefied Rock Maple. The maple blanks were sent to Canada where they cooked them at a very high temperature without oxygen so they couldn’t catch on fire.

This process aged the maple about 200 years and cooked all the sugars out of the wood. These necks are perfectly stable now and will never move or warp or twist. The combination of these plus top notch hardware and the incredible Ron Ellis Pickups, make the Nowcaster a special instrument, a joy to play, listen to and look at.
